Segments are saved lists of customers that you can use for targeting in your campaigns. LeadClose has two types of segments: Static and Dynamic.
Static Segments
A Static Segment is a fixed list of specific customers. It's like taking a snapshot of a group of customers at a single point in time.
When to use a Static Segment:
- You want to send a message to a specific list of people you've hand-picked.
- You want to target a group based on a one-time event (e.g., everyone who attended a webinar last week).
How to create a Static Segment:
- Go to the
Customerspage. - Select customers by clicking the checkboxes next to their names.
- Click the "Create Segment from X Selected" button that appears at the top.
- Give your segment a name and save it.

A static segment will not automatically update. If a new customer meets the criteria you used to select the original list, they will not be added.
Dynamic Segments
A Dynamic Segment is a smart list that automatically updates its members based on filters.
When to use a Dynamic Segment:
- You want to create an ongoing list that always has the most up-to-date members.
- You want to target customers based on properties that change over time (e.g., "all customers with the 'VIP' tag" or "all customers in the 'Nurturing' lead stage").
How to create a Dynamic Segment:
- Go to the
Customerspage. - Apply one or more filters using the filter builder.
- Click the "Create Segment from Filter" button.
- In the creation dialog, make sure the "Dynamic Segment" toggle is enabled.
- Give your segment a name and save it.

LeadClose will continuously check which customers match the saved filters and automatically add or remove them from the dynamic segment.
